Camden Joseph Hodapp is finally here!
We anxiously awaited our baby boy to finally come but he didn't want to come on his own.
On Friday, September 28th at 7 am, Michael & I headed in the doors of Sanford in Sheldon to be induced. We got checked in and brought to labor and delivery and got settled in.
At about 8 am Dr. Smith came in and checked to see if I was dilated and I was only at 1 cm. I was first given a pill around 8:30 to start some contractions. The first part of labor was very easy, Michael & I just hung out in the room and watched the golf tournament all day, just what I wanted to watch while in labor :)
At about 1:00 pm Dr. Smith came back in and started Pitocin. The contractions then started getting stronger and stronger. I couldn't handle the pain any more around 2:30 so they tried to give me some pain medication through my IV. About an hour later it still wasn't better so they gave me an epidural, it was smooth sailing from there.
Mom & Jenna came around 5:30 to say hi and see how I was doing and if baby Hodapp was here yet, he was not but the conractions started getting stronger and stronger and Dr. Smith came back in and said we were ready to start pushing.
At about 6:30 I started pushing and after about 20 minutes of pushing and some hard contractions Camden Joseph Hodapp was born at 6:58 pm, weighing 8lbs 2 oz and 20.5 inches long! Dr. Smith took him right away to the nurses and we could tell his face was pretty beat up so we were very nervous at first, Michael got to cut the cord and then go be with Camden while they checked on him. They said that his face was just bruised from coming through the birth canal. I finally got to hold my baby boy after all the weighing and foot prints. It was the best feeling ever! I finally had my baby boy in my arms that we awaited a long 9 months for!

Thank goodness he is as cute as he is, I went through hell and back after birth. I had a 3rd degree tear that went vertical and horizontal (tmi). I was at the doctor about once every week because of infection, stitches broke, etc. About 8 weeks later I was finally all healed up. I would for sure do it all over again, lets just hope next time it wont be as bad :)
